The Research

Research into thousands of post-incident reports makes it clear why developing and implementing a First Preventers Program is both game-changing and critical to the safety of students, employees, management, customers, shareholders, owners, community, first responders, etc.

So, what does the research show us?

Columbine High School – 1999

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (Parkland, FL) – 2018

In each of these examples the organization, school, etc. had warning signs & red flags reported before the incident took place, as well as had Threat Assessment Teams in place, however, they did not have a First Preventers Program established.

2018 K12 School Security Guide from the Department of Homeland Security:

“The importance of detecting and addressing concerning behavior, thoughts, or statements cannot be overstated. In fact, preventing violence by detecting and addressing these red flags is more effective than any physical security measure.”

The missing link for addressing these red flags and warning signs is the game-changer for stopping incidents, attacks, and tragedies as well as the immediate costs consequences as well as the ongoing costs and consequences.
